The House of Two Gables

This is our homeplace, our little house nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s a sweet little house hand-built in 1941. It had one owner previously and we purchased it 8 years ago after she passed away. It’s a funny little house with hardwood floors, a fireplace, a builtin-bookcase for your pretties and what-nots, a pantry, 2 screen porches and old kitchen that could use some love. The yard is filled with foliage that has been here long before us and will still be here long after we are gone. It’s been a happy little home and lately we feel we may be outgrowing it. While we may move on in a year or two the homeplace where we started our family will stay in our hearts.

  1. What a great blog! I am an author and the proud father of a 38-year-old daughter with Down syndrome. I have written a novel in ebook form, A SPY AT HOME, which is available on Amazon. In this book I have a central character, Noah, who has Down. I invite you to read this ebook, and I would be very interested in your thoughts about the story. I can be reached directly at rinald47@gmail.com.
Thank you for your blog and for sharing your child with Down syndrome.
