31 for 21 Day 28, Lovin the Buddy Walk!

October 25, 2009 was our first Buddy Walk! Our Down syndrome Family Alliance organized an excellent turnout! There were games for the kids, face painting, clowns with balloon animals, hot dogs, BBQ, free ice cream, beautiful weather and lovely fellowship! And the treat of the day, Chris Burke from the TV show, “Life Goes On” and his band! Very fun. I had the privilage of seeing him perform about 15 years ago when I was in Graduate School. I have to say I enjoyed it and his positive message to families about believing in your children and they can do anything so very much more today! All in all a good time was had by all and I look forward to the next DSFA event in December!IMG_0127

Carpe’ Diem

Well I’m going to get started even if it hasn’t been perfected yet. If I wait till I have all my links up and all of my history and profile complete I may waste months. So I’ll jump in for now and go back later. The Quail has a different EI- an ear infection, right on the heels of her EI visit. She spiked a fever yesterday but seems to be faring well today. Her sister, Zuzu was a generous soul in helping her get better- sharing her toys and trying to not terrorize her too very much. We are off to visit Nana & Bapa and a house full of loving relatives today. This will be the Quails first trip in the air- and with an EI to boot- here’s hoping we don’t get kicked off of the plane.
